Grant County Schools is delighted to announce that Mr. Todd Moody has been named as the district's fourteenth Superintendent. Mr. Moody has accepted the position and signed his contract with the Grant County Board of Education. He has been employed by Grant County Schools since 2019, when he was appointed as Principal of Mason-Corinth Elementary. In 2022, Mr. Moody transitioned to Principal at Grant County High School. He has a strong belief in the school system and its potential to maximize the academic achievement of Grant County students. "We will not maximize our potential until we embrace the idea that any student in Grant County belongs to all faculty and staff of Grant County Schools and we will work together to maximize their academic achievement," stated Mr. Moody.

 

The Grant County Board of Education voted unanimously to name Mr. Moody as the new Superintendent. "During the interview process, Mr. Moody provided the board with a plan and vision of what Grant County Schools can become. His plans for our district will be achieved through Collaboration, Communication, and Climate," shared Board Chairperson, Lisa Smith.

 

Mr. Moody has a strong belief in public education to impact and influence a community. "There is no overestimating the impact of a strong school board-superintendent relationship when it is focused on shaping the future of a community," said Mr. Moody. He added, "It is our privilege to work together to remove as many limitations and equip our students to become self-actualized as they enact their rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

 

Grant County Schools has many amazing opportunities for students and staff, and Mr. Moody looks forward to enhancing these opportunities and continuing to expose the possibilities that exist for students. Specifically, in the College and Career Readiness landscape, he stated, "We need to continue to survey our community and our employers to ensure that we are offering pathways that lead to real employment opportunities, to broaden our students' perceptions, and to inspire them to cultivate their skills and interests in work that is meaningful and fruitful."

 

Despite the current teacher shortage, Mr. Moody remains optimistic about the future within Grant County Schools. "It is my opinion that there are no unimportant jobs in a school district. Loyalty and trust begin with the understanding that every person is an integral member of a collective team and every person has the potential for positive impact on the lives of students."

 

Mr. Moody will officially begin his new role on July 1, 2024, upon the retirement of the current Superintendent, Mr. Matthew Morgan. He is excited to begin his new role he states, “I look forward to partnering with the great people of this community to inspire and grow the hope of our future.”
